I sighted no less than 7 Whale sharks and about 5 Giant Mantas ranging in the very small size, to the largest Whale Shark which had a Marker tag 771.

I have spent 30 days in Thailand doing my PADI Divemaster and during that time I encountered whale sharks at 2 separate dives.

We were on the way to our second dive site of the morning while holidaying in The Maldives this July 2007. On the first dive we had seen many sharks and the largest black spotted ray I have ever seen so it couldn't get better than that we thought.

I was fortunate enough to dive in The Galapagos Islands in September 2005, aboard Galapagos Aggressor 1 and during that trip my buddies and I visited the hotspot of Darwin's Arch.  We actually chose that time of year as it is generally recognised to be the peak season for whale sharks.
